However, it lacks the analysis tools and overall calendar view that TrainingPeaks gives you. It even has a workout builder which works in a very similar way to TrainingPeaks. Zwift has its own library of workouts and plans and these can be added to your calendar as you would expect. The lack of this ability has got me looking around. If I could create my own plans then I think I would stick with it but…. There are some REALLY cool features in TrainingPeaks but I have started wondering if it’s right for me. I simply don’t have these in my calendar yet.

I would have been happy if I could create my own training plan but this seems to be a feature for coaches only and that requires more money. I think for the serious athlete this would be acceptable but I am a long way from that. TrainingPeaks already has a fairly expensive cost (compared to others) and paying out extra for these plans seems excessive. It’s not that they don’t have them, but they all seem to be north of $100 for each plan. I have already mentioned that TrainingPeaks falls short when it comes to providing training plans. They have a library of workouts and workout plans. However, it has thrown up a new dilemma in my quest for mediocrity. I’m sure there is a novelty factor here that will wear off in time and I will get the indoor-outdoor balance right. In fact, I may be in danger of doing too much riding on Zwift. Zwift certainly provides a more entertaining way of riding indoors. Is TrainingPeaks right for me? In my last post, I talked about my use of Zwift for indoor training rides.
